Veronika was born in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine. She began dancing at the age of five and committed to ballroom dancing at the age of nine. She danced both Latin and Ballroom programs and represented the Ukrainian team at both regional and national level competitions, when she was fourteen years old in 2009. She also traveled to Poland and England for European competitions. As Veronikas dancing progressed, she moved to Kiev to study at the National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport eventually earning her a degree in Dancesport & Physical Education in 2016.
In 2017, at twenty-two years old she took to position as a dance instructor at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Madison, WI. Through out her teaching, she has competed with her students in Pro-Am at different regional, interregional and national competitions.
Veronika has always been an artistic person from a young age. Her foundation in music contributes to her dance knowledge and allows her to be a better teacher. She participates in professional development opportunities at Fred Astaire and believes it’s never too late to learn something new. She considers dancing to be the best way to show your true self and allows you to put your mind to anything. Nothing is impossible when you work hard.
In 2020, she started a professional dance career with Dymytrii Goncharov in American Rhythm.
Dymytrii Goncharov was born in Zaporizhya, Ukraine. At age ten his mother took him to dance classes where he promptly fell in love with dance. From 1995 to 2005, he represented the ZALK Dance Sport Club in competitions in Ukraine, France, England, and Germany. In 2008, he opened his own Dance Sport Club, "LEADER " and became an organizer of the “Leader Cup” Dancesport Competition. He won the Ukraine Championship in Rising Star Latin in 2012 and was part of top 100 couples in 2014 in both Blackpool and International. In 2015, he moved to the USA to teach dance at the Fred Astaire Madison West Dance Studio. He competed in Pro-Am as well as professionally in both Latin and Ballroom divisions. He became the Fred Astaire Ten Dance Champion seven times, the Fred Astaire Professional Open Ballroom Champion, the Ohio Star Ball Professional Rising Star Latin Champion and United States Dance Championships Rising Star Latin Finalist in 2018.
In 2018, he became an owner of the Fred Astaire Madison West Studio, successfully managing the studio until now. In 2020, he began a new partnership with Veronika Shapar, competing in a new style – American Rhythm.The results from this partnership have been remarkable. So far, they have...
